Twelve Recipients Awarded Full Scholarships to USA Basketball Women in the Game in Cleveland

The USA Basketball Foundation has awarded 12 future leaders in sport full scholarships to attend the USA Basketball Women in the Game conference on Thursday, April 4, at the Wolstein Center at Cleveland State University.

The USA Basketball Foundation has awarded 12 future leaders in sport full scholarships to attend the USA Basketball Women in the Game conference on Thursday, April 4, at the Wolstein Center at Cleveland State University. The recipients were selected from more than 50 applicants and their scholarships, valued at $2500, include travel, accommodations and conference registration.

Women in the Game is a professional development conference for high school and college students and young professionals looking to explore the sports industry or seeking a career in sports. Guest speakers from different sports careers will speak on their personal journey, some of the key characteristics that helped them be successful and their advice for those who want to make their own path. “We are fortunate to award each of these young leaders a scholarship to attend the Women in the Game conference in Cleveland,” said Jennifer Lynne Williams, CDO, USA Basketball Foundation. “The application process was exceptionally competitive but these women rose above. I would like to thank our USA Basketball Foundation donors for making this opportunity possible and for their commitment to championing women.”

Women in the Game is one of multiple events the USA Basketball Foundation is hosting in Cleveland during the 2024 NCAA Women’s Final Four. The Foundation will also host an invite-only reception at Vault on April 3, to celebrate the #WinWithHer campaign. The campaign helps raise funds supporting scholarships for women to attend the Women in the Game conference. Individuals who make a donation before the March 31 deadline will receive an invitation to attend the reception.

The USA Basketball Foundation is invested in expanding USA Basketball programming that grows the game beyond the court, so that leaders are mentored in every community, and equity is not only an aspiration, but the standard rules of the game.
