Formed in 2019, the USA Basketball Foundation is a 501(c)3 supporting organization founded to conduct programming and generate support for USA Basketball, a nonprofit organization and the National Governing Body for men’s and women’s basketball in the United States.

Jennifer Lynne Williams
Chief Development Officer
USA Basketball Foundation
Jennifer Lynne Williams is a distinguished sports leader known for her transformative impact. On May 25, 2021, she was proudly announced as the Chief Development Officer for the USA Basketball Foundation, a role that exemplifies her commitment to cultivating a culture of excellence and progress within the realm of basketball.
In this capacity, she drives the comprehensive growth of the USA Basketball Foundation, pioneering an inclusive fundraising platform. Her efforts support diverse national team programs, youth development initiatives, and innovative programs spotlighting women and fostering social responsibility.
Notably, on July 20, 2022, Williams etched history by securing a monumental $3.5 million donation from the Tull Family Foundation. This landmark contribution stands as the largest gift to the USA Basketball Foundation since its inception in 2019, marking her prowess in resource mobilization.
With a distinguished career marked by groundbreaking achievements, Williams has consistently elevated the organizations she’s been a part of. Named as the director of intercollegiate athletics at Alabama State University (ASU) on October 10, 2018, she had previously served as the university’s interim athletic director and deputy athletic director, driving remarkable success during her tenure. While serving at ASU, the Hornets experienced an unprecedented 43 Southwestern Athletic Conference championships, three consecutive commissioner cups, and two conference academic awards for the highest GPA, all under her leadership.
Williams’ journey also saw her contribute significantly to North Carolina A&T State University, where she served as the associate athletic director for development and executive director of the Aggie Athletic Foundation from 2012 to 2016. Her pivotal role oversaw all giving initiatives for athletics, and she was instrumental in the institution receiving recognition as a model booster organization by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).
In addition to the abovementioned positions, Williams also worked at DePaul University as the assistant director of development for athletics and worked in development and marketing for Women Leaders in College Sports (formerly the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators).
Williams’ accolades and honors reflect her unwavering dedication to serving others and her positive impact on the sports industry. In 2018, she was named the Women Leaders in College Sports Division I (FCS) Executive of the Year. North Carolina Central University (NCCU) also recognized her as a 40-under-40 Class of 2016 honoree, celebrating her accomplishments across various domains.
A former athlete herself, Williams excelled as a four-year letterman and two-year captain in women’s basketball at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her professional career began as a reporter for the Tar Heel Sports Network and production assistant for Fox Sports South.
Hailing from Detroit, MI, Williams holds a bachelor’s degree with a double major in journalism and African American history from North Carolina and a master’s degree in athletic administration from NCCU, where she graduated magna cum laude.
Her impact also extends to leadership positions; she was appointed to the NCAA Division I Council in 2018, where she actively participated on the Football Oversight Committee. She also held executive committee roles with the National Association of Athletic Development Directors (NAADD), Women Leaders in College Sports Board of Directors, NCAA Board of Governors Committee to Promote Cultural Diversity and Equity, Black AD Alliance, and the Black Coaches United Board of Directors.
Currently residing in Colorado Springs, CO, Williams finds her strength and support in her family – her husband, Valdez; daughter, Harper; and son, Jackson.
Williams’ journey stands as a testament to her unwavering dedication to propelling the world of sports forward, promoting inclusivity, and advocating for nothing short of excellence. Her innovative leadership remains instrumental in shaping the field of sports administration and forging paths in development that set new standards for the industry.

Josh Kreibich
Director of Development
USA Basketball Foundation
As Director of Development for the USA Basketball Foundation, Josh Kreibich is responsible for leading national fundraising initiatives and donor engagement to expand access and opportunity through basketball. Prior to joining the organization in May 2025, Kreibich served as Assistant Director for Development at the University of Arizona, where he significantly expanded the Wildcat Club membership and revenue.
Kreibich also brings extensive basketball operations experience from his time with the Chicago Bulls organization, where he served in multiple capacities including scout and General Manager of the Windy City Bulls, the team’s NBA G League affiliate. He additionally held collegiate coaching and operations positions at Northern Arizona University and Concordia University Texas.
Kreibich earned bachelor’s degrees in Business Management and Marketing from the University of Arizona and a Master’s degree in Communication from Northern Arizona University. He resides with his wife, Abby, and their two children, Leni and Ryvr.

David Denenberg
Senior Vice President, Global Media Distribution & Business Affairs
National Basketball Association
As Senior Vice President, Global Media Distribution, David Denenberg is responsible for structuring and negotiating agreements relating to all facets of the media businesses of the NBA, WNBA, NBA G League, USA Basketball and other NBA initiatives such as the Jr. NBA World Championship. In this capacity, Denenberg helps manage relationships with the NBA’s most significant media partners, including ESPN, Turner and all regional sports networks, and advises NBA, WNBA and NBA G League teams on a variety of issues relating to their media rights.
Denenberg also oversees the licensing of ancillary content relating to each league, and negotiates agreements with all major studios and platforms. Additionally, Denenberg is responsible for the operation of the league’s footage and photo licensing businesses and oversees the NBA game scheduling process.
Denenberg currently serves on the Board of Governors for the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, where he also serves on the Finance Committee. Additionally, he serves on the Finance Committee and Nominating and Governance Committee of USA Basketball while also serving on the Board of the USA Basketball Foundation.
A cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School, Denenberg graduated magna cum laude from Colgate University.

Swin Cash
Vice President, Basketball Operations and Team Development

A two-time Olympic (2004, 2012) and 2010 FIBA World Cup gold medalist, Cash is one of just 11 women in history who have earned a gold medal at both the Olympics and World Cup, as well as titles in the WNBA and NCAA. Additionally, USA Basketball teams with Cash on the roster posted an overall 85-5 record.
Selected number two overall by the Detroit Shock in the 2002 WNBA Draft out of the University of Connecticut, Cash helped the Huskies win national championships in 2000 and 2002 and was named the 2002 Final Four’s Most Outstanding Player.
During her illustrious 15-year WNBA career, Cash appeared in nearly 500 regular season games with the Shock, Seattle Storm, Chicago Sky and New York Liberty. A three-time WNBA champion (2003, 2006, 2010), four-time WNBA All-Star (2003, 2005, 2009, 2011), and two-time WNBA All-Star Game MVP (2009, 2011), Swin also was named one of the WNBA’s Top 20 Best and Most Influential players.
Following her retirement from playing at the conclusion of the 2016 WNBA season, Swin remained with the New York Liberty and assumed a first-of-its-kind WNBA front office position as Director of Franchise Development in 2017. Cash also went on to cover sports and culture for several different media outlets, including Turner Sports, CBS Sports, and MSG Network.
Swin has received an honorary doctorate from Washington & Jefferson College for public service. She has also been recognized by the Smithsonian Museum – Heinz History Center with the History Makers Award, received the March of Dimes New York Sportswoman of the Year and the Freedom Award from the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis, Tennessee.
Off the court, Swin is the founder of Cash Building Blocks, an urban development company that renovates and offers affordable homes for low income families. She also founded Cash for Kids, a charity whose mission is to motivate, educate and elevate kids through physical fitness, nutrition, education, cultural trips, and sports camps. She is proud to have worked extensively with the NBA as a global ambassador for social responsibility and civil rights.
Although Swin holds many titles, there are none greater to her than that of a wife to her husband – Steve Canal and mother to their son – Saint Cash-Canal.

Cooper Trahern
Director of Finance
USA Basketball
Cooper Trahern serves as Director of Finance for USA Basketball, leading the organization’s financial strategy. He oversees long- and short-term financial planning, manages internal and external audits, and prepares and monitors the annual budget. Trahern administers USOPC funding, ensures compliance with related programs, and maintains adherence to nonprofit regulations. Additionally, he prepares and reconciles financial reports, monitors cash flow, projects financial needs, tracks sponsorship agreements, oversees insurance policies for players, coaches, and organizational liabilities, and handles financial oversight of the USA Basketball Foundation.
Prior to joining USA Basketball, Trahern served as a Controller in the construction industry for five years in Canon City, Colorado. He also held roles as a Financial Analyst at Arrow Electronics and a Decision Support Analyst at Centura Health, both in Denver.
Trahern earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus in Finance from the University of Denver in 2016 and a Master’s Degree in Professional Accounting from Colorado State University-Global in 2020. He resides in Canon City, Colorado, with his wife, Samantha, and their two children.

JoAn Scott
Managing Director
NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championships
JoAn began work as the managing director of men’s basketball in October 2013. She came to the NCAA after spending the previous 17 years with Nike, including the last four as the director of governing body relations. She joined the company in 1996, serving as manager of Nike Sports Entertainment, before becoming an event manager for Nike Basketball in 1998 and then manager of NCAA Division I conferences and National Federation of High School relations in 1999. She was promoted to director in 2002 and held that post until 2009.
Prior to Nike, Scott served as assistant to the executive director of USA Basketball from 1987-90, before becoming the organization’s senior administrative assistant from 1990-92 and the director of basketball operations from 1992-96. She was an integral part of the USA Basketball administration that managed the original Dream Team at the 1992 Olympics, as well as the 1996 Olympic team. She also oversaw Nike’s U.S. Olympic sports marketing efforts at the 2010 and 2012 Olympic Games. While working for Nike, Scott served as the venue manager for the 2002 FIBA World Basketball Championship in Indianapolis.
She was a volleyball student-athlete and played basketball one year as well at the University of Nebraska-Kearney, from which she received her bachelor’s degree in 1986. She also earned her master’s in business administration from Butler University in 2005 and volunteered as a high school volleyball and basketball coach while working for USA Basketball.

John Thompson III
Senior Vice President
Monumental Basketball
John Thompson III joined the USA Basketball Foundation Board of Directors in August 2023.
Thompson has a distinguished background in basketball, highlighted by 13 years as the head men’s basketball coach at Georgetown University. Currently the senior vice president of Monumental Basketball, Thompson III has ties to USA Basketball as he served as an assistant coach under Jeff Van Gundy during the 2019 Men’s World Cup Qualifying games.
Off the court, he is an active member of the community with participation in several nonprofit boards, including leading the John Thompson III Foundation.
