Olympic Legend Kevin Durant to Join USA Basketball Foundation x RX3 Charity 3X3 Tournament as Philanthropic Partner
Inaugural Tournament set for Aug. 1 in Orange County, California
Kevin Durant, a four-time Olympic champion, 2010 FIBA World Cup gold medalist and two-time NBA champion, will join the USA Basketball Foundation and RX3 Growth Partners, an institutional growth equity firm co-founded by NFL legend Aaron Rodgers, as a philanthropic partner for the inaugural charitable 3×3 basketball tournament in Orange County, California. The tournament, set for Aug. 1, 2026, was announced in March as part of a partnership between the USA Basketball Foundation and The RX3 Foundation, the philanthropic arm of RX3 Growth Partners.
The USA Basketball Foundation x RX3 Charity 3×3 Tournament will unite USA Basketball athletes and coaches, celebrities, business leaders, entrepreneurs and philanthropists for a high-energy day of competition, community and giving.
Durant, who has been part of the USA Basketball family since 2006, will be joined by several other USA Basketball alumni to coach teams at the tournament, which will tip off at 10 a.m. PT at Open Gym Premier in Ladera Ranch, California.
Through their participation, USA Basketball alumni coaches will have the opportunity to raise awareness and support for nonprofits of their choice, including the Durant Family Foundation, which was started by Durant in 2013.
“As a USA Basketball legend, Kevin Durant’s contributions to the organization’s on court success speak for themselves,” said Jennifer Lynne Williams, USA Basketball Foundation chief development officer. “Kevin is committed to creating opportunities for others through the Durant Family Foundation. This tournament provides a platform for Kevin, along with our other USA Basketball alumni and donors, to raise awareness for causes near to their hearts and to inspire others to use the game of basketball as a force for good.”
Durant’s participation in the tournament will help spotlight the work of the Durant Family Charitable Foundation (DFCF). The mission of DFCF is to foster positive youth development, strengthen community ties, and help young people build the life skills and social-emotional awareness they need to thrive within their families and communities.Since 2013, DFF has developed direct programs and initiatives to support youth across the U.S., in Durant’s hometown of Prince George’s County, MD, and around the world.
